Interns will apply separately to two different tracks with MAPS. Interns matched at the first track (192525) will have the opportunity to shadow multiple providers and receive informal supervision and training from multiple clinicians (in addition to regular, formal supervision with primary supervisors). Interns may also have the opportunity to lead various psychoeducational and psychotherapy groups as well a conduct psychological assessments in a number of settings including schools, offices, juvenile detention centers, and other various locations. Intern experiences at this location will include significant administrative involvement including strategic planning, financial planning and management, special projects, and consultation relative to the operation of MAPS.
Interns in this track may also complete minor rotations (up to 40% of time) at other sites, which will involve some travel with occasional overnight stays. Interns are reimbursed for travel as well as will receive free lodging and a meal allotment for those instances. The minor rotation for the 2014-2015 training year is at Family Psychological Center in Harrison, AR. Other possible minor rotation sites may include other MAPS offices throughout Missouri.
The second track (192523) at MAPS will consist primarily of testing experiences. Interns will also be reimbursed for travel according to the HAPTC reimbursement guidelines.
